Using as cold of water as you can stand when washing your face morning and night is key. Any excessive heat at all can incourage inflammation in the skin. Using products that contain oatmeal extract and, or rice water or related ingredients can help with ongoing redness.

Even through exfoliating can be scary when your skin is already appearing flushed is scary it is still necessary to promote cellular turnover. Enzymes are the perfect method for this skin concern because they do not cause physical irritation to the skin. Make sure that you follow the brands instructions and do not use it too often or you may experience increased sensitivity.

All of these steps are helpful but the most important in this post is to use a MINERAL SPF. This is crucial because chemical spfs release heat as they diffuse the sun's UV rays. Heat + sensitivity= more redness. A mineral sunscreen will only reflect the rays of the sun and cause no heat emission to the skin.
